Market Season starts Tuesday May 23, 2023
Spring is finally here and that means the Florence Farmers Market will soon be open for business again! This year, the Florence Farmers Market will set up shop at a new location on the Port of Siuslaw Boardwalk near the intersection of Bay St and Nopal St, every Tuesday starting May 23rd through October 17th. The weekly hours of operation are 3 to 6 PM. The local and regional food producers from past years… Farm For Our Lives, Fog Hollow Farm, Jubilee Valley Farm, Vine To Table, Rainforest Mushrooms, and Fermentruth …will be there with an array of local and organic produce, eggs, mushrooms and fermented foods, delicious breads and pastries from Marcy’s Sourdough and Sweet and amazing microgreens from Adamson Family Farms. A new addition to the market is the Coastal Knife Sharpening Mobile Station, so don’t forget to bring your dull kitchen cutlery and garden tools!
Market Manager Lia Rousset said: “We are very excited to have a new home for the Market and are looking forward to providing the residents of Florence and surrounding areas with more diverse vendors, farmers and local products. We are always looking for local organic food producers and farmers who are interested in working with us.”
This year the Market will continue to have the Community Table program where local farmers and gardeners can share their bounty throughout the season. This is an easy and inexpensive way to be a part of the weekly excitement.
There will also be opportunities for non-profit organizations that align with the mission of the Farmers Market to attend and share the details of their organizations.
If you’re interested in being a part of these programs, please go to the website for more details www.florencefarmersmarket.org
There will be special Cooking Demonstrations as part of the PeaceHealth ProduceRX Program and monthly Siuslaw Family Connections activities.
Local musicians will keep things lively each week and fabulous events are planned throughout the season. We look forward to a community celebration of our new collaboration with the Port of Siuslaw beginning with a Grand Opening in June, followed by a special Business Appreciation Day in July and a National Farmers Market Week celebration in the first week of August. Watch the Siuslaw News for more times and dates. Stay up to date by signing up for the Weekly Seasonal Newsletter.

About the Florence Farmers Market
The Florence Farmers Market, a 501c3 nonprofit, is a result of the community-led Local Foods Initiative of the Siuslaw Vision. A dedicated group of volunteers, staff and board members creatively worked together with a goal of increasing awareness of and access to local foods for Siuslaw residents.
